The Treatment Episode Data Set (SAMHDA) is an administrative data system providing descriptive information about admissions to and discharges from alcohol or drug treatment in facilities that report to individual state administrative data systems. The TEDS series was designed to provide annual data on the number and characteristics of persons admitted to and discharged from public and private substance abuse treatment programs receiving public funding.
